The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is known for giving people a good time, so it’s certainly no surprise that the reveal of the 2017 entertainment acts lineup is one to be envious of.
Along with huge international acts such as Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, Duran Duran and even Seal is Malaysian superstars Kyoto Protocol, set to bring their homegrown rock roots all the way to our neighbouring country.
Formed in 2008 by five music-lovers, Malaysian rock band Kyoto Protocol’s unapologetically rebellious brand of music quickly established their position in the music scene when they won the Yamaha Asian Beat Central Regional Finals in 2009. The band’s breakthrough came in 2011, when they gained international attention for opening Grammy-award winning rock band MGMT’s inaugural show in Kuala Lumpur in 2011. Shortly after, the band released their debut EP “An Album” and later went on to produce a full album “Catch These Men” in 2015. Catch Kyoto Protocol on all three nights, beginning from Friday, 15 September at the Village Stage (Zone 1), Sunset Stage (Zone 1) on Saturday, 16 September, and Downtown (Zone 4) on race day, Sunday, 17 September.
